There is literally no excuse to not wear sunscreen in 2025. Sun protection is the number one thing your skin needs (forreal, ask any dermatologist), but, we get it, some sunscreens feel gloopy and uncomfortable, or cause a gnarly white cast. You'll never have to worry about that with Supergoop, though. The brand has been perfecting its weightless, glow-enhancing formulas since 2007, and it's grown to become the number-one-selling suncare brand at Sephora. But is it worth all the hype it gets?
As pale AF redhead, I take my sun care very seriously. (I even sometimes wear sunscreen at night, which may sound extra, but I swear the moonlight burns my translucent skin.) So when my Cosmo editor tasked me with ranking the best Supergoop sunscreens, I made sure to try out every. single. formula. No, seriously. It was tough. Rest assured that the picks below deserve a permanent spot in your vanity.
Full disclosure: There are a few ride-or-die Supergoop sunscreens that have been in rotation for years—I'm lookin' at you Glowscreen. But while testing for this story, I discovered new favorites that have taken my sun protection game to the next level. Keep reading to discover the six Supergoop formulas you should not pass up on, from fan-favorites to skincare routine simplifies to an spf lip balm that deserves way more recognition. But first, lemme wax poetic a lil about on Supergoop:
Why we love Supergoop sunscreens so much:
- Supergoop is always innovating to develop the most simple and easy-to-implement sunscreens that seamlessly fit into our skincare routines
- They have a variety of formulas for dry, oily, combination, acne-prone, and sensitive skin types
- Multiple sunscreens in their lineup are fully clear, leaving behind zero white cast whatsoever even on deep skin
- Many of their sunscreens help smooth skin or add a radiant finish, negating the need for makeup primer
- All products are vegan and cruelty-free, and many are fragrance- and paraben-free as well

Best Supergoop Sunscreen Overall
Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40
Pros
Comes in four tints that blend into a range of skin tones, from fair to deep
Can be used alone or as a makeup primer
Cons
Some people say it can sting your eyes a bit
I mean... does it come as a surprise that Glowscreen comes in at number one? This weightless formula is essentially a filter in a bottle, has garnered dozens of celebrity fans (it was even featured in Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso music video), and it's perfect to throw on when I want to look glowy sans makeup.
Rather than making me look greasy—which some glowy sunscreens do—this imparts a healthy, sun-kissed radiance on my skin all year round. I adore how the formula is infused with nourishing hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to keep my skin soft and bouncy, even through the dry, winter months. And without fail, I always get compliments when I wear this. TBH, I've pretty much retired all face makeup and exclusively use this most days—it's that life-changing.
- SPF Level: 40
- Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, vitamin b5, niacinamide
- Size: 1.7 oz
Glowing customer review: "I will never go back to who I was before I used this. LIFE CHANGER. You HAVE to get it, you will not be disappointed. I look so hot every day now."

Best Smoothing Supergoop Sunscreen
Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 50
Pros
Upgraded formula offers higher SPF protection
Truly invisible on all skin tones
Helps smooth skin texture without drying
Cons
Some testers with very oily skin found it a bit greasy
The mega-viral Unseen Sunscreen we all know and love just got a major upgrade: It's now available in SPF 50 protection, and to say I'm obsessed is an understatement. The new version feels just as velvety smooth and weightless, but now offers more hydration benefits thanks to marine algae and meadowfoam seed oil. FYI, it's a game-changer in the sun space because it's totally undetectable (seriously, after applying, I sometimes can't remember if I actually put any on, lol). This was essentially made for people who hate sunscreen. Trust me, once you try it you'll be a total convert.
Beauty editor Beth Gillette also has been testing this out for a few weeks and echoes similar sentiments. "I'm going through a bout of hormonal acne with lots of uneven skin texture rn, and this essentially just smooths it all out under makeup like a primer," she explains. "But it doesn't dry out my face either, like many blurring products—instead, it softly hydrates, while offering up great sun protection."
- SPF level: 50 (but also comes in SPF 40)
- Key ingredients: Marine algae, licorice root, meadowfoam seed oil
- Size: 1.7 oz
Glowing customer review: "I wear this sunscreen every day whether I’m wearing makeup or not. It goes on like butter. It’s so smooth and makes my skin feel so soft. I got rid of all my other makeup primers because this stuff works so great at keeping my makeup on all day, but it’s also so nice that I’m protecting my skin from the sun at the same time. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to traditional makeup primer—this stuff is gold."

Best Daily Supergoop Sunscreen
Supergoop! Every. Single. Face. Watery Lotion SPF 50
Pros
The most weightless of all Supergoop sunscreens
So moisturizing that I skip my regular moisturizer
Also protects against the damaging effects of bluelight and pollution
Cons
Might be a tad too lightweight for those with very dry skin
Raise your hand if you've ever been victimized by heavy, uncomfortable, gloopy face sunscreens (🙋🏼🙋🏼🙋🏼). We've all been there. This magical face lotion couldn't be further from those nightmare-ish formulas of yester-year. And once you try it, you'll look forward to applying sunscreen daily. The watery formula melts into skin on contact, feels extremely refreshing and cooling, and leaves zero trace of white cast for a weightless, natural finish. My skin leans dry, and I find myself swapping my moisturizer exclusively for this because the hydrating liquid keeps my face happy while protecting against the sun's rays (duh) and also filtering blue light and pollution.
- SPF level: 50
- Key ingredients: Cress sprout extract, wild butterfly ginger root extract
- Size: 1.7 oz
Glowing customer review: "My absolute favorite face sunscreen. Lightweight and feels so good on my skin. I truly wear this every single day. Will continue to re-purchase."

Best Supergoop Sunscreen for Lips
Supergoop! Play Lip Balm SPF 30
Pros
Leaves behind a glassy sheen that lasts for hours
Provides SPF 30 protection
More affordable than other glossy balms on the market
Cons
Doesn't taste the best when it does (inevitably) get in your mouth
This is, hands down, the most slept-on Supergoop product, and I don't understand why more people don't use it. (1) We can't forget about protecting our lips in the sun, because sunburned lips are a thing, and that sh*t hurts. (2) This rivals some of the most viral lip balms I've tried as a beauty writer in terms of shine and nourishment. The substantial (yet lightweight) gloss coats my lips without feeling goopy or leaving behind a film that many SPF lip products tend to do. It doesn't fade quickly, either. Instead, this leaves a glass-like sheen the lasts for hours, making me feel like my lips are protected but also v glossy. Supergoop, this is my formal request for more flavors and tints, pls. I'll buy 'em all.
- SPF level: 30
- Key ingredients: Shea Butter, natural oils
- Size: 0.5 oz
Glowing customer review: "Very happily surprised by this lip balm. Historically the SPF lip products that I have tried were drying… This was light and moisturizing. I bought two more so I have them everywhere."

Best Supergoop Sunscreen for Body
Supergoop! Play Antioxidant Body Sunscreen Mist SPF 50
Pros
Sprays my entire body quickly with the strong mister
Water resistant up to 80 minutes
Smells like fresh citrus
Cons
Can make skin look a little greasy, according to a few reviews
Behold: A sunscreen spray that puts all other sprays to shame, in my personal opinion. I won't go to the beach (or really anywhere in the summer) without this easy-to-apply SPF. The extra-fine mist feels so satisfying to apply. Not only does it smell amazing—like fresh citrus—it also quickly covers a lot of area and feels like air on my skin. I feel confident applying it on myself without additional help from others, and it hasn't failed me yet. Seriously, I'm a pale redhead, and I've never once burned when wearing this (need I say more?). Oh, and as a bonus it's water and sweat-resistant for up to 80 minutes.
- SPF level: 50
- Key ingredients: Vitamin C, green tea extract, acai extract
- Size: 6 oz
Glowing customer review: "I am so pale and this is the first sunscreen I’ve ever used where I didn’t have any sunburns after a day at the beach! It goes on so smoothly- the mist is so even. It actually stays on in the water and isn’t sticky. I’ll never use another sunscreen at the beach or pool again! Love love love!"

Best Supergoop Sunscreen Moisturizer
Supergoop! Triple Prep Weightless Multitasking Moisturizer SPF 40
Pros
Can be used as both moisturizer, sunscreen, and face primer
Soothes skin with ectoin
Feels just as luxe as my high-end face creams
Cons
I wish the container were a bit bigger considering the price
Loved by Gillette (peep where she gave this a 2024 Holy Grail Award), this SPF-infused moisturizer is ideal if you're looking to simplify your skincare routine. It works as a mega hydrator to reinforce the skin barrier and plump the skin with hyaluronic acid, while also safeguarding your skin from the sun's rays and acting as a primer for makeup. It feels just like the high-end moisturizers I typically slather on my face, but with the added benefit of sun protection. Personally, I like to reserve it for winter use (it's thick enough to keep skin comfy in cold temps), but it's definitely lightweight enough to wear in the summer too.
- SPF level: 40
- Key ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, ectoin, glycerin
- Size: 1.7 oz
Glowing customer review: "I absolutely love this moisturizer! It has almost no scent, feels creamy but not heavy, and provides great sun protection. I was getting dark spots on my cheeks and using this daily has totally eliminated them. This is my go to daily morning moisturizer!"
